The Petenera isa flamenco palo in a 12-beat metre,

Invited to Fortune Mixtape, a collaboratif project curated by artist Clara Claus, to create a visual response to a musical piece and abstract drawings printed on a deck card. Made from found footage it is an interpretation of the myth of La Petenera. A folk tale centered around a woman reported to be, owing to her seduction power, the "damnation of men".

Breath

by Natacha Ikoli, June 2015

Breath… because it has just started.

It looks very much like today.

Nothing was really like yesterday

I was

He was

We were

Dancing

Chanting

Thinking

Breath… because it’s just starting

For all we cared it was today

Those hearts

Beating strong

Faint

Fragile

For us, within myself

For those who cared for truth found desire

For those those who cared for allegory found equanimity

Breath… because it will just start

Me within yourself

Nothing but for now

If it wasn’t for now

It would be next

Saw a glimpse of true life

Saw the  joy of now

Felt the toll of non-existence

What a life

Strong

Alone

May you be true

To  what lies inside

Flow, merge, glide towards the ultimate end

Breath… because it starts just now.

If I can dance the dance

Be the be

Sing the sing

Twirl the twirl

I am what

What I am

Is not real

To you, who are there

Through your eyes

Be my eyes

Show, for I can no longer see

Take me through the froth of your waves

Floating through space or water.

At peace for I

Did

Remain

Upright
